Article Writing Prompts: keep it short
If you are looking to hire an article writer to work for you, one piece of advice is that you keep your writing prompts brief. In my own experience working as a professional article writer, I have seen clients submit writing prompts of all different lengths and sizes but the best ones are usually short and to the point. The reason why we say this is because longer prompts, which may be extremely specific, do not give the writer a lot of space to be creative. Assuming, that the reason why you are hiring a writer to begin with is because you respect their expertise, long prompts kind of give the impression that you don't trust the writer to do it "right".
This can be a bit conflicting, because the writer may think that you "may as well write the article yourself". They may also be put off by the idea that the article has been so specifically outlined. One of the main differences between article writers and content "re-writers" is that article writer usually have experience putting together pieces by themselves. While "re-writers' simply re-spin content that has been written by someone else. If you have a very particular article concept in mind, you may be better off hiring a re-writer then an article writer. Or at least listing the job as a re-writing project.
Why Most Writers Prefer Short Prompts
Just because a prompt is brief does not mean that it cannot be specific. A brief writing prompt that clearly describes what you want the article to be about is much more helpful to a writer then a long rambling description without any specific points. Consider this a writing prompt that reads; Write a 1000 word article about professional freelance writers in 2013 that write academic papers for students, how do they advertise their services, and how much do they charge.
This is a simple 29 word-writing prompt that tells the writer EXACTLY what to include in the paper and what it is about. If you have hired a reliable article writer, they won't need much more information then that to put your article together. Using a short writing prompt makes it much easier for the author to narrow down what research content needs to be included in the article and get to the main points faster.
The final result will be an informative, well-structured article, which is written on the topic that you assigned with only a single short prompt.
